Minnesota will be one of the most fiercely contested battleground states in 2026, and precinct caucuses are where it all begins. The Senate District 25 DFL needs volunteers like you to help make this year’s caucus a success.
What's a Caucus?
A caucus is a neighborhood meeting where Democrats like you come together to elect delegates, discuss issues that matter, and shape the direction of our party from the ground up.
Whether you're a long-time activist or attending for the first time, your participation makes a difference in determining who represents us at county and state conventions.
It's democracy in action at its most local level—neighbors gathering to build the movement togeth

What is my Ward, Precinct and Caucus Location?
A top tip for a successful caucus experience is to know your ward and precinct number before going to the caucus. This will save you time on caucus night. You will be able to grab a registration card and proceed directly to your caucus room, without needing to look up arrival. Here is how you find out your details:
Your neighborhood is defined by ward and precinct
Each precinct is assigned a specific location to caucus, reported to the MN Secretary of State
Use the Caucus Finder tool to learn your ward, precinct, and caucus location
What Can You Do?
There is much to do to host a successful caucus and bring the neighborhood together to talk about the issues that matter most. We need your time and talent to get the word out, coordinate logistics, ensure everyone feels safe and included, and lead the discussion. Here are jobs that need doing!
Lead the Discussion
Precinct Conveners and Convener Assistants: Register precinct attendees, convene the caucus for each precinct, and supervise the election of a Caucus Chair for the precinct. This year, registrations will be taking place on paper to avoid admittance bottlenecks and to provide a better, more enjoyable caucus experience. Conveners should attend a training at our DFL office or online - details about upcoming training are here
Caucus Chair: Each precinct elects a Caucus Chair to be the moderator for official business on Caucus night only
Precinct Chairs: Elected to a two year term and represent their precinct on the Senate District 25 DFL Central Committee. Precinct chairs are responsible for organizing their precincts to support the efforts of the Senate District 25 DFL unit and its endorsed candidates
Ensure Everyone Feels Safe and Included
Constitutional Observers: Individuals trained in civil initiative tactics provide increased accountability and transparency. If you are a Constitutional Observer and plan to attend the caucus, please let us know by replying to this message
Non-Attendee Forms Collectors and Distributors: We have forms for those who are unable or feel unsafe attending in person. The forms allow people to share resolutions or volunteer for leadership roles within the local DFL
Location Greeters: Welcome attendees and help them identify their precinct’s caucus room
Get the Word Out
Coordinate Logistics
Sign Makers: Create outside and inside directional signs for the caucus location
Setter-Uppers: Transport materials from the DFL Office to Century High School, set up the signage, precinct stations, and campaign materials
Taker-Downers: Take everything down at the end of the caucus and transport materials back to the DFL office
Runners: Deliver additional materials to a caucus room throughout the evening
Data Entry: After the caucus, a dedicated team is needed to enter all information from caucus night, including the resolutions that were passed and the elected delegates and alternates. This information must be completed within 5 days of the caucus.
