The DFL units of Senate District 25 and Olmsted 20/24 are excited to announce the 12th Annual FDR Dinner, taking place Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. The dinner honors President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's visits to Minnesota in the 1930s and 1940s and the progressive policies of his era, while also recognizing Eleanor Roosevelt's legacy as a transformative First Lady and leading voice for global human rights.
This is one of our area's signature annual gatherings — a chance to connect with fellow DFLers, hear from local candidates and elected officials and show your support as we approach mid-term elections.
Meet Our Keynote Speaker: U.S. Rep. Dr. Kelly Morrison
We're honored to welcome U.S. Representative Dr. Kelly Morrison, who represents Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District, as this year's keynote speaker.
Morrison spent more than two decades practicing as an OB-GYN doctor before six years in the Minnesota legislature. As a state legislator she passed more than 90 bills, one of the most productive records among her peers. She was elected to US Congress in 2024, succeeding Dean Phillips, and has represented MN-03 since January 2025. Representative Morrison has prioritized health care access, gun violence prevention and environmental protection.
Our Emcee: Julie Blaha
Guiding us through the evening as Emcee is Julie Blaha, Minnesota's 19th State Auditor. A former middle school math teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, Blaha went on to serve as secretary-treasurer of the Minnesota AFL-CIO before her election as State Auditor in 2018. Since taking office in 2019, she has overseen roughly $60 billion in local government spending statewide, working to strengthen transparency and accountability in local finances while rebuilding an office that had faced funding threats. Blaha announced last year that she will not seek re-election in 2026.
VIP Reception and Auctions Are Back
Two of the dinner's most popular traditions return this year:
VIP Reception — an exclusive opportunity to mingle with elected officials, candidates, and party leaders before the main program begins.
Silent and Live Auctions — bid on donated items and experiences throughout the evening, with proceeds directly supporting the work of the local DFL office and our candidates. If you or your business would like to donate an item, drop it off at the DFL office, weekdays from 1–4 p.m.
Get Your Tickets
This event has sold out in past years, so we encourage you to reserve your seat early. Tickets are available online through ActBlue at actblue.com/donate/26fdr, or you can pick up a Ticket Order Form in person at the DFL Office, 1500 1st Ave NE, Suite A, open weekdays from 1–4 p.m.
Can't make it this year? You can still support the cause with a donation through the same ActBlue link.
We hope to see you there as we come together to honor the Roosevelt legacy and power our work to move the Rochester area forward.
