Senate District 25 (SD 25) is a diverse and dynamic region, encompassing vibrant communities in Olmsted County. Our district is home to engaged citizens, the Mayo Clinic, local businesses and dedicated public servants working together to build a stronger future.
There are two Senate Districts in the Rochester area and it can be confusing to know who represents you. Senate District 25 includes much of the city of Rochester and the townships of Cascade, Haverhill and Oronoco.

Do you live in the Rochester area, but are not part of Senate District 25?
There are two Senate Districts in the Rochester area and organize within Olmsted county. We know it can be confusing to know who represents you. If you are not in Senate District 25, then you probably live in Minnesota Senate Districts 20 or 24. These districts include parts of the city of Rochester and the surrounding townships of:

We are part of Congressional District 1
​
Senate District 25 is part of the 1st Congressional District of Minnesota which extends across the southern border from South Dakota on the west to Wisconsin on the east.​ Our district is part of Olmsted county, the most populous county in the congressional district.
​
Presently, our representative for Congressional District 1 is Republican Brad Finstad. Representative Finstad has been criticized by many in the community for refusing to participate in town halls, talk with local media and protect USAID assistance for American farmers.
​
Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota and leader of the Minnesota DFL, represented Congressional District 1 from 2006 to 2019.

Leadership Roles at Senate District 25
DFL Senate District 25 is led by volunteers like you.
We meets regularly to organize, advocate and move the Rochester area forward. Projects vary and include organizing events, managing social media, engaging with potential voters and fundraising. We are led by elected officers, directors, and chairs of precincts and townships, who meet monthly as a Central Committee.
