Democrats are dedicated to supporting veterans and their families, who make our freedoms possible.
According to the Pew Research Center, about 6% of the US adult population is a veteran, a drop from 18% in 1980. The make-up of our veteran community is also changing, with the highest percentage of our veterans having served during the Gulf War era and the population becoming increasing diverse.
Join your local DFL for our monthly policy panel as we discuss how we can continue to support our changing veteran community. The DFL is committed to improving the VA system, expanding benefits and provide veterans with the resources they need to thrive after serving their country. Our panel will address these issues and provide a forum to hear your voices as well.
Panelists:
Trent Dilks, Legislative Director, Disabled American Veterans
Bill Habedank, Veterans for Peace
Rep Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger, Co-Vice Chair, MN House Veterans and Military Affairs (invited)
Kristy Janigo, Veterans Engagement Coordinator, Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers
Veterans Administration (invited)
The policy panel will convene on Saturday, May 31st at 1:00pm. For more details and to RSVP, click below.
