Hear from Candidates and Get Involved at the Local DFL Convention

The Senate District 25 DFL organizing unit will have our 2026 unit convention Saturday, March 21 at Mayo High School. Registration of delegates starts at noon and the conventions will begin at 1:30 PM in the auditorium.

Candidate for Congress Jake Johnson and Minnesota DFL party chair Richard Carlbom will speak at the convention, along with Senator Liz Boldon and Representatives Kim Hicks and Andy Smith. We expect candidates for U.S. Senate and other statewide offices will speak.

Senate District 25 DFL delegates will endorse candidates for the District 25 seat in the Minnesota Senate, and District 25A and 25B seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives. We will also elect unit 2026-28 officers and directors.

The local convention is part of a larger grassroots process to inform and decide DFL politics at a state level.  Other responsibilities completed at the convention are:

  • Vote on resolutions passed at February’s precinct caucuses to decide which to send to the Minnesota DFL convention

  • Elect delegates and alternates to the 1st Congressional District (CD) DFL conventionand the Minnesota DFL Convention

  • Elect members and alternates to the 1st CD and Minnesota DFL Central Committees for 2026-28.

The convention is open to the public and to the media. Entry is free, a $5 donation is suggested to cover convention costs.
